For years we have dreamed of owning a piece of coastal Baja California real estate. We had the fortune of meeting Larry French, Realtor, through some surfing connections and friends. Before the purchase took place, I asked Larry to put me on his email listing service to receive daily and weekly updates to what was available and what was selling on the Gold Coast, (we were primarily focused on locations from K38 to "Campo Lopez")

Larry knew every development in that area and showed us the best ones, with the best rental returns and which would allow for us to use the home when we so desired. From single family homes, to townhomes, to Villas and condos, Larry knew every detail. He has great local knowledge of activities to enjoy, including all the dining options and tricks and tips for entering and exiting Mexico.

Larry informed us of all the current activity in the HOA and guided us through a home inspection, helped us negotiate a great offer and then guided us through the long and detailed process of escrow in Mexico. This is a specialized process that requires the utmost attention to detail. The signing was scheduled in Tijuana at a convenient time. Larry reminded us of all the proper documents to bring to Mexico for the signing.

Larry French went the extra mile in every aspect of selling our Club Marena property. After a marketing campaign that brought several well qualified buyer to the table we were in escrow before we knew it. Then there were some unavoidable extenuating circumstances that caused serious issues with the sale. Through his expertise, knowledgeable connections and just plain over the top service we got the sale done. Without Larry French I am sure we would have lost the buyer and not completed the sale. I have had a professional relationship with Larry French for approximately 10 years. I am an experienced real estate investor and appreciate the time, effort and honesty that Larry has provided. During my time investing and selling in Mexico Larry has provided the most consistent and knowledgeable advice as to appropriate rents and times to purchase and sell. A good example of Larry’s follow through was the last transaction (approximately one month ago) the sale took in excess of 7 months and Larry negotiated to keep the purchasers and me on track. We selected Larry French to purchase our vacation home in Mexico. We highly recommend Larry for several reasons.

We have been contemplating such a purchase for several years and looked at properties with other brokers. The other brokers gave me the impression that they would not coordinate with other brokers and only showed their own listings. Larry represented us. He helped us find what we were looking for. He recommended properties based on the value of the listing. Not based on who had the listing.

Larry knows the neighborhoods. How much sun, how much wind and how much noise can be huge issues as well as the character of the developments. We are so happy with the fact that we listened to Larry’s recommendations on those issues. We realized later we were shown other properties at the time of day that best suited the property. Not so much the buyer. If you want to be really happy with your decision to purchase you should use a realtor that represents your interests and knows all the not-so-obvious details about the properties you are looking at.

We bought 4 pieces of Real Estate last year and have a moderate understanding of the process in California. The process is quite different in Mexico and he kept us informed throughout the purchase process. Larry oversees the whole thing and partners with professionals that specialize in the closing process. He also does a great job of helping you understand the nuances of the process in Mexico. He had to repeat himself a few times but we are grateful for his patience.

Lastly, there is the issue of not living near the property you are purchasing. Who handles phones, computers, gas, furnishings, improvements, insurance…. Larry has a guy for each of those and many more. His service goes well beyond the sale.

I had a dream… Larry made it a reality. The money was in my investment portfolio for years. Now my investment portfolio has a 10 million dollar view. I feel like I won the Lotto. No remorse on this purchase. You know what I recommend you do. Now you know who to use to get it done.
